CAT
- GROOMING
Grooming is a vital part of caring for a cat and must be carried
out on a regular basis. Long haired cats require more attention
than short haired cats. If left ungroomed the hair tends to mat
or knot together and this can be very painful for the cat and if
left too long can be very difficult to remove.
Frequent grooming allows the owner and cat to bond, because regular
but short grooming sessions are more playful and less painfull for
the cat. If grooming sessions become prolonged then then the cat
can get board and fractious. Regular grooming allows inspection
at close quarters of your cat's general condition. It is important
to check the eyes, ears, teeth and nails for any sign of changes.
Also for signs of fleas, mites, wounds, swellings or hair loss.
There are many different types of grooming tools available. Most
cat owners have a selection of coarse and fine brushes, combs and
clippers. The selection of grooming tools will depend on the cat's
and owner's preferences.
